Flag Etiquette
The American flag is the symbol of freedom wherever it flies. In times of war and in times of peace, high above the grandest buildings or over the humblest cottage, Old Glory is a sign of the pride every citizen has in our country and our way of life.
Displaying the flag is both a privilege and a responsibility. To ensure that it is always properly displayed and respected, the United States Congress formally adopted "The Flag Code" in 1976. We hope this copy of the code will be enlightening and a valuable tool for years to come. Use it well and always honor Old Glory.
